Stinging lead guitar characterizes these late 1950s and early 1960s sides by the "Master of the Telecaster" Albert Collins. These tracks are almost all uptempo and feature horns and organ prominently. Although fans of Chicago blues will enjoy this, it has a real Texas feel that will appeal to fans of Freddie King and SRV. As for sound, on the import version I got one can hear the phonograph needle drop at the beginning of some tracks. That's not a complaint in my book, though. The sound is bright and dynamic. This is a collection of definitive Texas blues that any fan of the music will love. Top notch!
